G-0----| D-2----| A-2----| E-0----| old Full Lyrics: We spotted the ocean at the head of the trail Where are we going, that is so far away Then somebody told me that this is the place Where everything's better, and everything's safe Walk on the ocean Step on the stones Flesh becomes water Wood becomes bone And half and hour later we packed up our things We said we'd send letters and all those little things And they knew we were lying, but they smiled just the same It seemed they'd already forgotten we'd came Walk on the ocean Step on the stones Flesh becomes water Wood becomes bone Now we're back at the homestead Where the air makes you choke And people don't know you And trust is a joke We don't even have pictures Just memories to hold That grow sweeter each season As we slowly grow old | / slide up | ~ vibrato Some notes about the tab: - This is my first tab; hopefully it's pretty readable and pretty accurate. I'd like to credit to the chord tabs before me for the idea of capo on 4th and some initial chord shapes. -Thanks to my dad, who introduced my to Toad in the 90s when i was young, and still is on top of the newest and best indie and all around good rock albums than me. -Played acoustic besides the solo, but I like the sound on electric guitar with a lot of Fun song to play with. In the Verse, -For anyone struggling with my timing, it's a simple "One Two and Three and" strum for most of the chords -Hopefully the shortening of the repetitive part isn't confusing, simply wanted to make as consolidated as possible. -Within the group of Cs, he really just does one and hammers on and off, which sounds but I decided to put it simply. -The F# during "this is the place" is actually an F#sus11. In the Chorus, -Ignore the Highest 3 strings for the Em; it's there to show the easiest finger progression. -I normally down pick until the B, and then begin down picking again until the C#. -The second F# is actually an F#sus4 but I had no space. In the solo, - I figured I'd add a few extra notes for some fun. Sounds beautiful if you get the right, which I tried to indicate with the vibratos. Todd Nichols plays around with it in so try some improve out yourself! On the final note, -I didn't know what to end it on but thought this sounded cool. It's hard to get a dark note on the 4th fret ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Little bro, life's tough, get a helmet." - Boy Meets World |
