------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Out of Summertime - Scotty McCreery ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tabbed by: Kahsm Tuning: Standard I'm by no means great at tabbing by ear, and this would be the first ever that I post, but this song didn't seem to exist yet and this version worked out for me in impressing a girl who, for some reason, adores Scottie. So I hope someone else might be able to use it too. Use a fast country feeling picking pattern through the verse to get that banjo feel, with a few hammer-ons here and there. I kinda like 5 3 4 2 as a base pattern, but I vary _a lot_ through the song. It should be quite brisk, I get through that 4 times between "Duquoin" to "fair". Actually I just tried it and it's more like... | 5 R 3 2 | h> 4 3 2 | 5 34 [1'3' 2] or [2'4' 3] | very light tap on transitional ' '-ed strings between beats "34" is half notes, hit string 3 then 4 twice as quickly than in the other measures Anyway, just trying to give you an idea of how I try to get the right feel given these chords which may be horribly wrong. Good Luck! C It's the Duquoin, Illinois county fair F C I could still see you standing there like a dream Flatbed stage on a little dirt track She was second row, her hair pulled back F C We were young and free G [hit 6th string string once then strum down on "Oh" similar for the F everytime this part happens] Oh, she could've been mine F (let ring) C But we ran out of summertiiiiiime C Spent a few weeks out on a lake shore beach F C Carved our names high as we could reach on an old wooden pier We made plans we planned to keep F C 300 miles from her to me and her senior year G Oh, she could've been mine F (let ring, then build to chorous with single strums) But we ran out of summertime [ Tab from: http://www.guitaretab.com/s/scotty-mccreery/294866.html ] C [half strum half pick to ge a full sound without losing the twangy feel] And of all the things I let get away F C She's the one that keeps me awake at night And I've never seen days go by so fast A little more sand falling through the glass F C She was hot as July and sweet as sunshine G Oh, she could've been mine F C But we ran out of summertiiiiiime C If the days had only stayed that long F And those autumn leaves didn't have to fall C Oh, we'd have fell in love 'Cause what we felt on that Ferris wheel F Was just too right and just too real C But just not long enough G Oh, she could've been mine F [let ring, then build to chorous with single strums] But we ran out of summertime C And of all the things I let get away F C She's the one that keeps me awake at night And I've never seen days go by so fast A little more sand falling through the glass F C She was hot as July, sweet as sunshine G Oh, she could've been mine F C But we ran out of summertiiiiime C [very clean picking for this section] And of all the things I let get away F C She's the one that keeps me awake at night And I've never seen days go by so fast A little more sand falling through the glass F C sweet as sunshine C [back to half and half] And of all the things I let get away F C She's the one that keeps me awake at night And I've never seen days go by so fast A little more sand falling through the glass F C She was hot as July, sweet as sunshine G Oh, she could've been mine F But we ran out of summertime C -Kahsm |
