The variations of D chords above are not different other than the voicings, which in
country songs is an integral part of the song as most country songs use very popular
and usually overused chord patterns and so country musicians have to concentrate on
their voicings to bring a sense of originality to the song.

Bm7 Gsus2
From the moment that we met

             d(1)
My world was turned around

Asus2/4
Upside down

Bm7 Gsus2
To some degree I still regret

    d(1) Asus2/4
My memory for keeping you around

Em7sus4 F#/d Gsus2
Girl I thought that you were mine

       Em7sus4 F#/d
But my broken hearts been shattered

Gsus2
One too many times

                    D(2)
And I don’t want to see you anymore

Bm7(2)
I’m just not that strong

  Asus4
I love it when you’re here,

        Gsus2
But I’m better when you’re gone

    D(2) Bm7(2)
I’m certain that I’ve given and oh how you can take

        Asus4
There’s no use in you looking

                Gsus2
There’s nothing left for you to break

    Em7sus F#/d Gsus2
Baby please release me

       Em7sus F#/d Gsus2 (REPEAT INTRO)
Let my heart rest in pieces

In the next verse, the electric guitar in the background is playing around on
some suspensions in a small riff which is chordally derived from the on we heard
in the intro which means that if you like you CAN get away with a Bm7sus2 instead of
Bm7, but only if you are really being back by a band!

Bm7 Gsus2
Someone let you down again

       d(1)
So you turn to me

     Asus4
Your convenient friend

Bm7 Gsus2
Oh but I know what you’re doing

             d(1)
And what you hope to find

               Asus4
I’ve seen it a thousand times

Em7sus4 F#/d Gsus2
Oh the fire we had before

   Em7sus4 F#/d
Are now just bitter ashes

     Gsus2
Left scattered on the floor

                    D(2)
And I don’t want to see you anymore

Bm7(2)
I’m just not that strong

  Asus4
I love it when you’re here,

        Gsus2
But I’m better when you’re gone

    D(2) Bm7(2)
I’m certain that I’ve given and oh how you can take

        Asus4
There’s no use in you looking

                Gsus2
There’s nothing left for you to break

     Em7sus F#/d Gsus2
Baby please release me

(careful below as they play one bar less than you would 'feel' before the solo!)
       Em7sus F#/d Gsus2 Bm7sus2 Bm7
Let my heart rest in pieces

       Yeaaahh...................
SOLO - d(3), Bm7(2), Asus4, Gsus2

                    D(2)
And I don’t want to see you anymore

Bm7(2)
I’m just not that strong

  Asus4
I love it when you’re here,

        Gsus2
But I’m better when you’re gone

    D(2) Bm7(2)
I’m certain that I’ve given and oh how you can take

        Asus4
There’s no use in you looking

                Gsus2
There’s nothing left for you to break

     Em7sus F#/d Gsus2
Baby please release me

        Em7sus F#/d Gsus2
We both know that you don't need me

       Em7sus F#/d Gsus2
Let my heart rest in pieces

Here again we see the intro motif reappear, this time however it is best to play it chordally
as follows with the chords changing in rhythm to the riff:
 BAR 1 2 3 4
 |Bm7sus2 Bm7| Bm7sus2 Bm7(3)| Bm7sus2 Bm7| Bm7sus2 Bm7(3)| x2

You should be able to see that the motif is all that is changing between these chords but by
presenting it like this it provides a harmonically pleasing voice!

You can also get away with playing it as in the intro of course, depending on whether you want
to finish it loudly or delicately!
