"THE TOWER" - NICOLE ATKINS (acoustic) Ok it is official... I really love this album! Anyway... the acoustic and CD version are very similar. For the intro Nicole does some back progression with the "Am" playing with the base between the "G" then "F#" and then she hits th "F" before starting (just play around with it). The same progression happens between verses. Enjoy, Victor Schinazi ________________________________________________________ (Am) (E) (Dm) (Am) We built a tower for all the town to see (Am) (E) (Dm) (Am) Bricks, concrete, metal and memories (Dm) (Am) Inside the rocks and stone, spaces became our home (Dm) (E) Arguments echoing, love made so high (Am) (E) Searching for words for the end (Dm) (Am) But we built the tower too high (F) (C) (G) (F) When the light finally dies and we look to the sky (C) (G) Will we finally know why (F) (C) They call the dawn the morning (F) (Am - Am/G Am/F# F) And I wish we'd said goodbye (Am) (E) (Dm) (Am) Years flying by, trapped all alone in the sky (Am) (E) (Dm) (Am) And you stories down and all of our loved ones outside [ Tab from: http://www.guitaretab.com/n/nicole-atkins/267667.html ] (Dm) Our words turned out all wrong (Am) Intentions lost in halls (Dm) (E) Now all I want to do is tear down the walls (Am) (E) Searching for words for the end (Dm) (Am) But we built the tower too high (F) (C) (G) (F) When the light finally dies and we look to the sky (C) (G) Will we finally know why, (F) (C) They call the dawn the morning, (F) (Am - Am/G Am/F# F) And I wish we'd said goodbye (Dm) (Am) Seems like the final day you'll ever come my way (Dm) (E) So please forgive me if I hold on too tight, too tight (E) Tight, tight, tight (Am - Am/G Am/F#) There's a tower (Dm) There's a tower (E) There's a tower, crumbling (Am - Am/G Am/F#) There's a tower (Dm) There's a tower (E) There's a tower (E) (Am) Crumbling, crumbling, down (Am) (E) So when the light finally dies (Dm) (Am) I'll know the answer to why (Am) (E) They call the dawn, mourning (Dm) (Am) Wish I could've told you goodbye. |
