----------------PLEASE READ!!!------------------- This song is easy chord-wise, but the order the chords are played in is confusing. When it first starts off, it starts on a very low F, then progresses up. For example, on the first line you play a low F, then go up to Am, then up to C, then Dm, and the next F. You stop going higher on "stone", and play down, but stay on that octave until the next verse(then you start over). ****Also, in the chorus I couldn't figure out what the note name was for the other chord on "pancake". I put a star buy it; you basically play a Cm but instead of the last note being a G, its replaced with a play G flat. email me with any questions if this is confusing(sorry if it is!!) ----------------PLEASE READ!!!------------------- Intro(single notes): B flat ,F,B flat C,G,C B flat ,F,B flat C,G,C B flat ,F,B flat (rest of the song is played in chords) Verse: F Am C Dm F They fell out into the navy night Am C with smiles of stone Dm F Am C walking down roads that glittered, Dm F G with winter light and snow F G C D G linking thin arms, they swam the sea Am B♭ a soul sea (play the lower Em, Dm, and C) F G Em Dm gleefully cackling, bitter and twisted C G Am burning like golden rings F G Am it was the burning of the bright young things F Am C not a penny on them, but Dm F they had expensive needs Am C Dm flying down, hot city streets F Am country and the city mouse C Dm found an old Dutch Pancake house F G Am ordered a plate of syrupy lies (play A lower C) C G yeah they ate 'em all up Am and licked the plate dry (play these notes an octave lower) F G Em F ordered 8, left without paying F G Am syrupy, syrupy lies F G Em Dm ran down the streets, with pancake gods saying, C G Am "we can see your guilty, guilty eyes C G Am tonight, a pancake thief dies."
