Tuning CFCCGD Chord Sequences: [Note: Experiment with minor 11 (no 5th) chords rather than simple minor or minor 7ths in the below sequence. Take the minor 7 flat 6th with pinch of salt..but it would be easy to do in dadgad (which I tried as well as the proper tuning). Also could try (rather than m7b6 chord in sequence 2), an Esus9 chord..I am not too sure of all the subtle tonalities here but its essentially Em for a few bars. ] Sequence 1: Now you say you love me Cm But you cry the whole night through Fm Gm You can cry me a river ............Cm........Fm Gm Oh yes you're going' to cry me a river Cm Fm Gm Cos I cried a river over you. Gm Cm repeat seq 1 for: Now you say you're sorry for being so untrue You may cry a river You may cry me a river I cried a river over you Yes I did child, yes I did my child. [ Tab from: http://www.guitaretab.com/j/john-martyn/297675.html ] Sequence 2: You drove me nearly out of my head Em7b6 You stood by and never shed a tear Em7b6 But I remember every word that was said Em7 ......Oh yes, I remember, never fear. Dm7 repeat seq 1 for: You may cry me a river, c'mon now Cry me a river You may cry me a river I cried a river for you oh how I cried. repeat seq 2 for: You nearly drove me out of my own sweet head You stood by, you never shed a tear for me. Turn back the tide of life, I cried, salty water running down I cried I love you I cried I love you I cried, I cried. and continue seq 1 (Cm to Fm to Gm sequences) where it fits for : You may cry, oh, she may cry now, a river of tears A river of tears for you You may cry now, she may cry, oh, she may cry now You may cry, oh, she may cry now a river of tears A river of tears for you. I cry you can cry me a river Lord loves a cheerful giver C'mon and cry me a river of tears C'mon now and cry me a river of tears C'mon now and cry me a river of tears C'mon now, c'mon down and cry me a river.
