J Frank Wilson And The Cavaliers - Last Kiss tab

Highlighted       Show chord diagrams
Great song. Real easy to play, and a great way to get a chick to think you're a real
;-).

I've seen it chorded out here before, but those are in the wrong key. Here's the correct key.

"Last Kiss"
J. Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers
Tuning--Standard (E A D G B E)

INTRO: (tacit; let bass play it out)
CHORUS:
        E C#m A B
Well, where oh where can my baby be? The Lord took her away from me
E C#m A
She's gone to heaven so I got to be good, so I can see my baby when I
 B E
leave this world

VERSE 1:
         E C#m A B
We were out on a date in my daddy's car, we hadn't driven very far
  E C#m A
    B
There in the road, it was straight ahead, the car was stalled, the engine

was dead
E C#m A B
I couldn't stop, so I swerved to the right, never forget the sound that

night
      E C#m A
       E
The cryin' tires, the bustin' glass, the painful scream that I heard last

[CHORUS 2--different vocal tune, same chords]

VERSE 2:
          E C#m A
Well when I woke up, the rain was pouring down, there were people standing
B
all around
 E C#m A B
Something warm a-runnin' in my eyes, but I found my baby somehow that night
   E C#m A
I raised her head, and when she smiled and said, "Hold me darling just a
 B
little while",
   E C#m A
         B
I held her close, I kissed her our last kiss, I found the love that I knew

that I'd miss
     E C#m A
       B
But now she's gone, even though I hold her tight, I lost my love, my life,
      E
that night.

[CHORUS 2]

OUTRO:
 E C#m A B
Eee....eee....eee....eee....
 E C#m A B
Eee....eee....eee....eee....
[repeat OUTRO to fade out]

So it's just an E-C#m-A-B progression repeated throughout the song. Keep a good tempo,
make it too slow. It's supposed to be more of a story than a real tearjerker. Don't make
too fast, either. You're not happy she died, either (hopefully). I like to instead of
out after a bunch of repeats, just end cold on an E after two or three "eee"
But, do as you like.

E|-0-| C#m|-4-| A|-5-| B|-4---|
 |-0-| |-5-| |-5-| |-4---------------------------------------|
 |-1-| |-6-| |-6-| |-4---------------------------------------|
 |-2-| |-6-| |-7-| |-4---------------------------------------|
 |-2-| |-4-| |-7-| |-2---------------------------------------|
 |-0-| |---| |-5-| |-----------------------------------------|

Have fun, and rock til the heavens stop you!
