There were no chords for this on here or anywhere for that matter so I decided to put one up. This is my first tab and I ran the song through Chordify and then transposed so the chords are relative to the capo. In standard tuning this song is played with the Capo on the fourth fret. If you see Houndmouth live or see a video of them doing this song you will probably see the capo on 5. I had to learn the heard way that for some reason Matt Myers has his guitar tuned half a step down so just keep that in mind when watching him play this song or any other song by them. Anyway enjoy! Standard tuning Capo 4 Intro: (C, Em, Am, G) x2 Verse 1: C You got some things to say Em But you never like to speak Am G C So you grab a pen and you head out for the table C You scotch taped a note down Em Of words that you wrote down Am G C Resembling an old English fable Chorus: F Em C And you were half way to Hardinsburg F G Am And you were half way to hell F Am C When you heard the sound of the organ's bitter swell (C, Em, Am, G) [ Tab from: http://www.guitaretab.com/h/houndmouth/376796.html ] Verse 2: C Em You're modeling the fashions while you're counting up your rations Am G C Well, girl you've got plans of your own C Em You're cursing the masses while you're looking through your glasses Am G C Well, girl you ain't never going back home Chorus: F Em C And you were half way to Hardinsburg F G Am And you were half way to hell F Am C When you heard the sound of the organ's bitter swell Bridge: C Em Mr. Moses, your front porch light's on Am G I've come here for your daughter and I can see that she's gone C Em You said she took a ring of mine to pawn Am G If I hurry I could catch her out on Broadway to dawn Instrumental/Solo: (C, Am, G, F, G) X4 Chorus: F Em C And you were half way to Hardinsburg F G Am And you were half way to hell F Am C When you heard the sound of the organ's bitter swell (Thanks to Marieli for these lyrics) |
