Okay, there are several tabs out there for this song(including five or so on this website itself) but I've never managed to find one that was completely correct. Not bashing any of the other people who posted this song, but all the other tabs had a few mistakes. So in the end I puzzled out the problem areas myself and decided to post my own version of the song. I had to make a profile for it to. *There are a few uncommon chords in this song, I have the positions for all the chords used in the song at the bottom of the tab* if you run across one you don't know. Well then, without further ado: "Simple and Clean" by Hikaru Utada Standard tuning, Capo 3 C Em When you walk away, You don't hear me say Am G Please, Oh ba-by, don't go C G C Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight D It's hard to let it go (Keep strumming D or let chord fade out) Am G You're giving Me to many things, Lately G Am G You're all I need, You smiled at me, and said F E Don't get me wrong I love you, E Am But does that mean I have to meet your father? Am F E Am When we are older you will understand what I meant when I said "No, E I don't think life is quite that simple. (From here repeats itself, same chords different lyrics, until the bridge) C Em When you walk away, you don't hear me say Am G Please, Oh ba-by, don't go C G C Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight D It's hard to let it go (continue strumming D chord) D Am G The daily things, that keep us all busy Am G Are confusing me. That's when you come to me, and say F E Am Wish I could prove I love you, But does that mean I have to walk on water? Am F E Am When we are older you will understand it's enough when I say so [ Tab from: http://www.guitaretab.com/h/hikaru-utada/358516.html ] Am E And maybe, some things are that simple. C Em When you walk away, you don't hear me say Am G Please, Oh ba-by, don't go C G C Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight D It's hard to let it go (Rapidly strum D Down,up,down twice) Cadd9 G6 Cadd9 G6 Hold me, Whatever lies beyond this morning is little later on C G C Regardless of warnings the future doesn't scare me at all. Fsus7 (Strum once) Nothing's like before! (Brief Pause) C Em When you walk away, you don't hear me say Am G Please, Oh ba-by, don't go C G C Simple and clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight D It's hard to let it go Cadd9 G6 Cadd9 G6 Hold me, Whatever lies beyond this morning is little later on C G C Regardless of warnings the future doesn't scare me at all. Fsus7 (Strum once) Nothing's like before! (Repeat once more from "Hold me...") And that's the song. My placement of the chords if as specific as I can make it (sometime they do change mid word) but in the end its up to you to make the changes exact, word is a rather imperfect medium for this sort of thing. The bridge is the most confusing part, mainly because it has three chords that most average guitarists don't usually see. Luckily, most of them are rather easy, and if you're really having trouble with the Fsus7 you can just use a normal F chord instead. I'd like to think I did this perfectly, but then I'd be lying to myself wouldn't I C: So if you think I'm wrong in any part of the song leave a comment and I'll try and fix it. And here are the chords a promised. These are my way of playing all the chords, so feel free to stick with your own variations. Am (0-0-2-2-1-0) G (3-2-0-0-3-3) F (x-x-3-2-1-1) E (0-2-2-1-0-0) C (x-3-2-0-1-0) G6 (3-2-0-0-0-0) Cadd9 (0-3-2-0-2-2) [ch]Fsus7[/ch] (1/x-3-3-0-1-1)* *For Fsus7, you have to either rap your hand around the neck of your guitar and use you're thumb to get the low E string, or not play the low E at all. Using your thumb makes it sound better. |
