Intro|| G| Em| G| Em|
G
let me off of this boat
I'm sick of this ride
the world is heading ever southward
Em
and I can't stay in here
G
and you're lying awake
away on your side
the feeling comes in waves and burns us
Em
and I don't wanna die
G
from your slippery hands
to the line of your throat
the fever now consumes us both
Em
in a fire now we will go
C(maj7)

Em
why did you have to go
C(maj7)
Santa Maria
[stop]
one day we will know
G
in a bowing of heads and a passing of hands
and all we thought they would understand
Em
is lost and they won't know
G
and what have we left
it's all that we got
there is no x to mark our spot
Em
what's past is done and gone
C(maj7)

Notes: Glen just batters the guitar with the side of hand or pick for most of the song. The C(maj7) can
be played as a C or a Cmaj7. I thought it was just a C the first time I played it but the lead guitar plays
wee slide up to a B note every time the C chord comes up so it has a feel of a maj7.
Hope this helps!!
