This is taken from the other Tabs here but I have fixed the VERSES! The verses are just two chords- back and forth between an OPEN C CHORD (with an alternating C/G bass note) then to an OPEN Am CHORD (with an alternating Open A/E Bass note). So for example you hold the open C chord but also hold down the bass note of G (3rd fret on the 6th string). Then you pick the chord, but your thumb plays the bass notes CGCG. (back and forth on 5th and 6th strings) It's like a country bass feel. Then do the same with an open Am chord and alternate A and E bass note. Intro: C (with alternating G bass note) Am (with alternating E bass note) repeat... C (with alternating G bass note) Here come chilly preacher Am (with alternating E bass note) Stumbling 'gainst the wind C Am Singing love, love is something to believe in C A prayer and the sea Am And twenty tons of me C Am Crying love, love is something to believe in [ Tab from: http://www.guitaretab.com/e/edward-sharpe-and-the-magnetic-zeros/334436.html ] G F C To my child of wonder rambling G F C All my crooked fingers pointing blame G F C Let it all wash out in the rain G F C Just let it all wash out in the rain Solo C F Am F C F Am F C G F C Beyond the drunken focus of my aim G F C All my heroes twisting in the flame G F C Let's let it all wash out in the rain G F C Let it all wash out in the rain SOLO C One more for forgiveness Am Twisting in the cold C Am Singing love, love is something I believe in C Too much my defenses Am Are dangling from the chain C Am Oh but free, free is something to believe in G F C To my god I want my gypsy train G F C Too my child a howlin' tambourine G F C Let it all wash out in the rain G F C Let it all wash out in the rain G F C Yes let it all wash out in the rain G F C Let it all wash out in the rain
