I wanted to learn this song a long time ago as a beginner and there were no easy-ish tabs on it, so I had my guitar teacher sound out the chords for me. I think this is a nearly perfect tab. TIPS: While you play the D chords, you can use your ring finger and pinky on the high e string to get the background melody you hear prodominantly throughout the song like this: e ------0 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 0 2 2 2 2 3 3 3 3 3 2 2 0------ And when you play the Bridge/Verse 3 towards the end, use this C and G fingering for the chords: C G e 3 3 B 3 3 G 0 0 D 2 0 A 3 2 E 0 3 ***CAPO 2*** Verse 1: D G Don't you feel it growin' day by day D Bm People Gettin' ready for the news A G Some are happy some are sad G D Wo, we got to let the music play D G What the people need is a way to make 'em smile D Bm It ain't so hard to do if you know how A G Gotta get a message get it on through D Oh now mama's goin' to after a while [ Tab from: http://www.guitaretab.com/d/doobie-brothers/227098.html ] Chorus: Bm G Wo, oh, oh, listen to the music Bm G Wo, oh, oh, listen to the music Bm G Wo, oh, oh, listen to the music E G All the ti--ime Verse 2: D G Well I know you know better everything I say D Bm Meet me in the country for a day A G We'll be happy and we'll dance G D Wo, we're gonna dance the blues away D G And if I'm feelin' good to you and you're feelin' good to me D Bm There ain't nothin' we can't do or say A G Feelin' good, feeling fine G D Wo, baby, let the music play (Chorus) Bridge/Verse 3: D C Like a lazy flowing river C G Surrounding castles in the sky D C And the crowd is growing bigger G Listenin' for the happy sounds and I got to let ‘em fly (Chorus a couple times) |
