Highlighted       Show chord diagrams
Ok guys (and ladies)...I've used a lot of songs here. Some have been done well,
others...not so much. Harlan at Hawaii.edu is usually spot on with his tabs. This one I'm
submitting is alos spot on. Great song. Enjoy.

Old Tennessee - Dan Fogelberg

Intro: //: D D/C# D/B A7 G/B
E/C# ://

D D/C#
End of October
    D/B A7 G/B E/C#
The sleepy brown woods seem to
D D/C# A7 A7 G/B
 E/C#
Nod down their heads to the Winter
D D/C# D/B A7
G/B E/C#
Yellows and grays paint the sad skies today
      G A7 D
And I wonder when you're coming home

Woke up one morning
The wind through the window
Reminded me winter was just 'round the bend
Somehow I just did not see it was coming
It took me by surprise again

(Chorus)
    Em A7 D D/C#
And I hear you're in San Francisco
Bm Bm/A G A7
Living with your sister who's a mother to be
    Em A7 D D/C#
And her husband's way down in Georgia
    Bm Bm/A G
And I'm still in old Tennessee...
Em A7 G
Wishing you'd come home to me

Verse: 3
D D/C# D/B A7
G/B E/C#
Life here is easy I'm sure you recall
         D D/C#
How it's so warm and breezy
       D/B A7 G/B E/C#
In the summer and the fall
    D D/C#
But winter's upon me
    D/B A7
And I've got no heat here
    G A7 Bm
And I miss your fire so sweet
Bm/A G A7 D
Dear I miss your fire so sweet

(Chorus)

I wonder when you're coming home
  Em A7 D

"Old Tennessee" was written when I lived on a farm outside of Nashville, as a parody of
east coast folk music. It was written about a young lady I briefly cohabited with, and
her subsequent departure. (Dan Fogelberg 6/11/97).
