These are the chords I have come up with for Petite Mort (so far). I really like this song, but unfortunately there aren't any tabs or chords online. What you see here I have figured out by ear. I'm sure I made mistakes. I'm hoping that this will give more talented musicians than I a place to start from. Maybe together we can figure the whole thing out! Note: The chords in this song change quickly, especially during the verse. Tuning: Down One Half Step All chords shapes relative to tuning (when it says C, you play it like a C in first position but it's really a B) Intro (0:00-0:12) E--------------------------------------------------------| B--------------------------------------------------------| G---------------------0-----------4----------------------| D---2-----2-----2----2-2----2----5-4---------------------| A--3-3---3-3---2-2--0------3-3--5------------------------| E-3-----3-----0-----------3------------------------------| (I haven't figured out the lick from 0:12-0:18, which is repeated throughout) (0:18) Em B C/G Am7 G D Am D Em Am D G B Verse 1 Em B Petite Mort, I asked you for an answer C/G Am7 G D Petite Mort, I sang until you slept Am D Em Petite Mort, you took yourself, you bastard Am D G B Petite Mort, now sleeping's all that's left [ Tab from: http://www.guitaretab.com/b/bad-books/350900.html ] Em B You took apart the sympathetic angle C/G Am7 G D When you catered to the bitterness inside Am D Em Aligned yourself with depths I couldn't handle Am D G A million daily deaths before you die Chorus C Gathered a bouquet Em Roses and posies A and straightened my tie C G D When I got there, you were nowhere I could find Verse 2 Em B Through layer after layer of subconscious C/G Am7 G D I hunted for a reason in the woods Am D Em I tore apart the map and started backwards Am D G B I couldn't picture living there for good Em B I left you there to finish setting fires C/G Am7 G D I left you there to propagate your lie Am D Em I left you there cos honey, I was tired Am D G I left you but that doesn't make it right Chorus C I remember your bedroom Em Ivy and clover A You kept me alive C G D Knives drawn, the butcher world waited outside Outro Em B Petite Mort, I asked you for an answer C/G Am7 G D Petite Mort, I sang until you slept Am D Em Petite Mort, you took yourself, you bastard Am D G B Petite Mort, now sleeping's all that's left |
