I looked all over for a good tab on this song and I found none, so I started with the chords. These are all correct for the live version of Deeside! An awesome song by an awesome band. This is my latest version now, because in my last tab I forgot to include some things. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- DEESIDE -- The Alarm ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tabbed by: Lil Bullseye E-mail: lil.bullseye@aol.com Tuning: Eb G# Db F# Bb Eb (down a half step) INTRO: C F C F Am F G (play 2 times) Strummed like this: C/.///./F/.//C//./F/.//Am//./F/.//G//.// The beats a little weird so look it up if you need extra help. Every slash is a strum; every period is a rest Also, to make it a little bit cleaner, the fingerings are like this: C: e-0 B-1 G-0 D-2 A-3 E-3 F: e-1 B-1 G-2 D-3 A-3 E-X And the rest is the same as far as I can tell. The rest of the parts use the usual fingerings. VERSE The verse is the same as the intro: C F C F Am F G And you play through it 2 times. PRE-CHORUS: F Am F Am G Played like this: F/.///.///Am/./././F/.///.///Am/.G//.////////////// *FIRE FIRE FIRE!* CHORUS: C G Am F Am G "To build the ships..." C G F C Am G F "To be dealt the cards..." C G F Am G "In this cruel world..." *DOWN ON THE GROUND!* [ Tab from: http://www.guitaretab.com/a/alarm/321894.html ] FINALE~ F Em Dm C Am "And (F)all a(Em)round the (Dm)world the (C)lights are (Am)going down..." THE ORDER -- INTRO VERSE PRECHORUS INTRO VERSE PRECHORUS CHORUS INTRO VERSE PRECHORUS CHORUS (C) .. (C) .. [harmonica part for a bit here] INTRO (SOLO) PRECHORUS CHORUS FINALE -- Have Fun :D -- LYRICS: Hey now! *VERSE* The iron gates clang in a steel mill town A man breaks down to that unemployment sound He takes a last walk down that old coast road In the dying death throes of all that he knows *PRE-CHORUS* The sight of those men walking through the gates Was like a lame pit pony at the end of it's days (Fire, Fire, Fire) *VERSE* In a Deeside town eight thousand went down In a February day in the driving rain No winners just losers and cuts and bruises As the picket lines fell, the industry died *PRE-CHORUS* There's still one question after all this time Is a working man born to live and then die? Fire Fire Fire! *CHORUS* To build the ships to set the sails To cross the sea of fools To be dealt the cards To play our hand To win or else to lose In this cruel world that kicks a man when he's down (Down to the ground) (Hey now) *VERSE* And Lady Luck smiles on the few in this world And I hope and I pray that she smiles on you I ain't gonna preach, no I ain't gonna teach I 'm just gonna sing about the things that I need *PRE-CHORUS* A little bit of love, a little bit of hope A little bit of strength, some fuel for the fire (Fire Fire Fire) *CHORUS* To build the ships to set the sails To cross the sea of fools To be dealt the cards To play our hand To win or else to lose In this cruel world that kicks a man when he's down. (Down to the ground) *PRE-CHORUS* A little bit of love, a little bit of hope A little bit of strength, some fuel for the fire (Fire Fire Fire) *CHORUS* To build the ships to set the sails To cross the sea of fools To be dealt the cards To play our hand To win or else to lose In this cruel world that kicks a man when he's down. *FINALE~* And all around the world the lights are going down. As a note, I didn't include the intro parts above. |
